Referring closely to ant pornography act.2014, select a literary text and justify why it should not circulate in the Ugandan public space Living Mugisha

Firstly the anti pornography act is the act that was approved by the Uganda parliament in 2014 and was signed into law by his excellence YOWERI KAGUTA MUSEVENI the president of Uganda on 6TH feb 2014 According to the act, pornography is defined as the representation through publication, exhibition, cinematography, indecent shows, through information technology or by whatever means of a person engaged in real or stimulated explicits, sexual activities or any other representation of the sexual parts of a person for primary sexual excitement. The selected literacy piece of art is the sex type of Shanitah Namuyimbwa commonly known as Bad black a Ugandan celebrity from Masindi eastern Uganda ,the sex tape linked allover social medias and the press as the text I am basing on is reflected from a Ugandan news paper known as ‘’red paper’’ of 29 November 2013, The Red paper puts it that “ then we had the bad black shockers, explicit photos of an exhausted, un clothed bad black laying on a bed with both legs wide open with packs of rough rider condoms littered on her bare breasts………..” Basing on such a piece of literary art, the picture that accompany it and even the wide of it, it should not be allowed to circulate in Ugandan public spaces as supported by the following arguments. According to the bill, the parliament passed it out to create the offence of pornography which is blamed for sexual crimes against women and children including rape, child molestation and incest among others. The chairman of the committee on the legal and parliamentary affairs Hon Stephen Tashobya (Kajara) said pornography is prohibited because of the dangers it poses to individual families an community, it is therefore necessary to pass the law that specifically deals with the offence of pornography and derives the reform necessary to stamp pornography out of the Ugandan society, said Tashobya. The committee observed that despite the existence of various legislations prohibiting pornography in Uganda, there is no single law to complihensively deal with the problem. According to father Lokodo, minister of ethics and integrity, four categories of display of human body include sexual parts of a person such as breasts, thighs, buttocks and genitals. The above piece of literature display all the above and ends up causing sexual excitement to opposite sex individuals, therefore it should not be allowed to circulate in Uganda public space. The art embodies a set of values and justifies involvement of the state in personal morality. Pornographic act in any form that violates or that is against morally acceptable behaviors of individual or community should not be allowed in circulation. Bad blacks sex tape both as in red paper and video is morally un acceptable among Ugandan societies due to its nude pictures, a shaming words and the likes. Therefore it should not be allowed to circulate in Uganda public space. According to anti pornography act 2014, bad black’s sex tape as depicted in The Red paper should not be allowed to circulate in public space due to the fact that it comprises of nude pictures such as bare chest showing breasts which brings both physical and psychological torture to opposite sex readers of such a text. Another problem with pornography is that it disturbs the hormones of the sexual desire to a man watching bad black’s sex tape or even reading it as reflected in red paper, becomes used to certain rituals such as taking time to go on line a few work as a reward, waiting for everybody in the house hold to be in bed listening for sounds among others, such a man looses the desire to engage with his pattern because he has less control over the outcome and it seems just easier to be himself, in the due course, this may result into family breakups. Pornography including bad black’s sex tape introduces another person into couples’ sex life .according to Jesus, simply looking at someone in a longing and lustful manner, is equal to adultery. Inevitably such people begin to compare their spouse body and sexual performance to the person in the pornography they are viewing. Of course when stimulated by pornography, no number of women or men could even satisfy us. In regard to the above argument, bad black’s sexual tape should not be allowed to circulate in Uganda public space. For men, pornography changes the way they view women in a negative way, research has proven that just two sessions of one hour exposure to related sexual entertainment changes men’s attitude towards women, they begin to objectify women and no longer see them as individually unique or valuable. the reason is because of demeaning manner which women and sex are portrayed basically pornography including bad black’s sex tape demeans women status centrally to the anti pornography bill 2014 hence should not be allowed to circulate in Uganda public space. Pornographic literature leads to addiction which ends up causing permanent sexual urge, continuous watching of pornography and even reading it ends up causing rape and other forms of sex misuse. According to the act,’’ a woman’s way of dressing is one of the causes of rape’’ said father Lokodo, therefore bad black’s sex tape in any form should not be allowed to circulate in Uganda public space.
