Referring closely to the anti-pornographic act 2014 select a literary text and justify why it should not circulate in Ugandan public space. Nabirye Patricia
Referring closely to the anti-pornographic-act-2014, I have a literary text “A HYENA’S TALE found in the red pepper.
Red pepper is a daily tabloid news paper in Uganda which began publication June 19th 2001 it deliberately mirrors the style of tabloids in other countries, the paper is known for its mix of sensationalism, scandal and frequent nudity.
A hyena’s tale is pornographic because it presents sexual parts of a person that causes sexual excitement. For example the pictures in hyena’s tale are always showing women who are naked with heir breasts and highs and buttocks revealed which is not good because once these parts are shown they cause sexual excitement.
A hyena’s tale has an abusive language for example mataako, mabina, these are words that should not be used in society because represent parts that are supposed to be private on a person’s body.
The tale of Mr. Hyena has descriptive language that people would consider a secret he describes things that are supposed to be only between two people who love each other for example he describes how a woman screams while he was having sex with her. “Oooh, Ehh, Uhh” she moaned as she licked her lips in away meaning she was enjoying. “The kitone discharge very slippery welcome fluids” all these are things that are not be exposed to society.
The tale paints a graphical picture of sexuality because he clearly shows how he is having sex with a woman for example “she started twisting her wast erotically it was evident she was enjoying. This kind of information is private. It should not be published to society.
Mr. Hyena should not circulate in society because it undresses characters. The way he describes people having sex, one is automatically forced to undress the characters as they read for example Mr. Hyena’s talks about how big the characters breasts were how big the buttocks were this forces the reader to create their own picture of a naked person in their minds as they read.
The hyena’s tale stages a pornographic show because he writes details of how he has sex with different girls. The tale is very much pornographic because Mr. hyena describes the body parts of the girls and also gives details of how they do the sex act.
The hyena’s tale in conclusion should not circulate because it affects families in away that many couples break up because their partners do not perform sex the way hyena describes it.
It also affects communities because people start using the words that are not supposed to be used in public just because they read them in Hyena tales.
The hyena’s tale affects individuals because after an individual reads what Mr. Hyena writes, they develop ill manners such as fornication, masturbation, rape
